Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. These negated any possible wind chill factor and made the trip in the cold weather just fantastic! Wish I would have purchased these sooner! I did size up simply because I 'd be wearing 2 layers underneath and very glad I did. I 'm a bit curvy and normally wear a 16 in jeans, there was a couple days that I waited to zip them up until after my boots were on, but overall, these were a great purchase!

I ’ ve been wearing these pants for both work and play for the last 3 years. Phenomenal in almost every way. Hard wearing, durable, and stylish. I do wish they were a bit thicker( like this version from years ago), but they are thick enough for construction work. They happen to be just right for backpacking in the Winds of Wyoming- warm days, cold nights. As to the comments from others about being too tight, order a larger size… Pockets are adequate for what I put in them but they are not giant cargo pockets. One of the best features is the strategic stretch material. Pants are never binding and always comfortable. Thank you for making an amazing product!

No offense, but size up. I ’ m specifically speaking to my thiqq boys that make noise in the gym. We love leg day, we do it because it allows us to hike for longer. We do it for the glutes. Trust me when I say it ’s not you it ’s them. Size up and thank me later. Aside from the sizing I love these and I personally think they are a great investment if you want to take your hiking attire to the next level. Ventilation isn ’ t the cure for everything and everyone sweats differently. The ventilation here definitely cured my souther sweat factory. I used these on a hike and my back was getting sweaty so on way back I ventilated and holy cow what a difference. You sacrifice a pocket and some thigh space by having the zipper to ventilate but this thiqq boy doesn ’ t like to chafe and am I happy I found these. I still give these a 5 star regardless of the size up. I do not like to have a sweaty bottom or back and this did exactly what I needed. Take the time and invest in gear that will last longer, haste makes chafe.

Initial observations. These pants are true to size. They fit great with a belt. I was worried about the boot hook and vent zipper. The boot hook is tucked away so that it is protected from accidently catching. The zipper pulls on the vents tucks away when open or closed.

I have 2 older style fit trousers( I still love them and they are holding up well) but I love the new improvements. The new style actually flatters ones bum. The older styles did n't really do much for the rear view, but Fjall is correct( improved fit) is an understatement. Great quality, and now an even better fit. The fit guide is spot on. Do n't skip the measurement part( and don; t be afraid when you are a bigger size than you are used to, the fit guide is accurate). One of the best mountaineering pants you can get- durable, breathable, and yet still warm at any altitude. These are my go- to pants for many PNW mountain treks( Mt Adams, Middle Sister, Mt. Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points. Tl; dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear

I understand there `` minimalist '' meant for backpacking but would of like to have a bit more leg room and perhaps a wider hip so you can put them over pants. I 've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They do n't restrict my leg movements, do n't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also. Rain and wet brush are expected if you are outside much of the year here in the PNW, so you need some good rain pants.

My issue is n't with the pants which are great, BUT with the sizing chart- I am 6' 3 '' and 36 '' waist and a large size works for me but I have an 34 '' inseam and the chart recommendation is to get a tall size however I think regular would have been much better. This is my second pair of these pants. I think they are great. I use them all winter on mountain treks. Very comfortable and when it gets colder, I just layer with my merino wool underneath. I 'm 5- 7 '' and weigh 160#. And the mediums fit great.

Pants fit great, took the advice of a previous reviewer and went one size up than normal. I 'm 5'11 '', 175 and normally go with Medium. Does n't have a drawstring for the waist, hope the next version does.

Predominantly a cold weather running pant, though I have used it for nordic skiing as well. I find the pant performs exactly as I hoped, meaning that I can run in above freezing temperatures without overheating, but do n't freeze at- 10C. Excellent fit, trim but not tight, great freedom of movement.

Very pleased. I 'm shorter/stockier( 5' 5 '' /170lbs) and the medium was great for me( 32 '' waist), although they fit a bit snugger than shown in the taller model on the website. VERY warm pants. I would have liked regular pockets as well, but the two side leg pockets work great for phone/keys. Great for shoveling snow or running and everything in- between!

These pants are so cozy that I ’ ve been wearing them almost everyday while I work from home. I also wear them on my hour long daily walk in temperatures that have been in the high thirties, and my legs are very comfortable. They are comfortable in a range of situations, and the fleece is very soft.
