This is the perfect jacket for any type of cold weather! I live in a mild winter climate but tend to visit places where it gets a little chilly and wanted a jacket that would work for all the things. I sized up to make sure I have extra room for layering. On its own, it is perfectly lightweight and but still keeps me warm. On colder days, I am able to layer a sweatshirt underneath and stay cozy. For reference, I am 5' 7 '' and typically wear a size Large; purchased an XL and it hits right below my bottom.

It's warm and comfy. Soft fleece, lots of zippers and pockets. Got the gray, the fleece is different from my other Denali's. The fleece is maybe softer than the usual Denali fleece. The fleece does shed, which I guess happens with the softer fleece. It is way more cropped than the older Denali as well. The name should say `` Cropped ''. I 'm considering sizing up to see if it will make any difference, but that means the sleeves will be much wider. I 'm not sure why the under arms are soooo huge maybe to decrease sweating hence the zippers under the arms. They should have two options for the Denali, one with a regular length and one cropped for women. This one is functional, but will rise up. I buy a new Denali every few years, this one is very different. The prices keep going up and the jackets and sweaters keep getting shorter.

The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I have n't had the chance to wash it, but the material seems like it will hold up well in a normal wash cycle. The side pockets are deep enough to hold my cell phone, but if I could make one addition to this jacket it would be to have a cell phone pocket up near the chest, either inside or outside as other Columbia coat styles have. The Velcro tabs along the zipper and on the sleeve cuffs are very strong too which make for a secure fit. The jacket material feels very durable as well. I have n't worn it in the rain, but I 'm sure it will pass that test perfectly as well. The jacket is true to size and being a woman with a pear- shape body, the bottom portion of the coat fits perfectly- not snug, not baggy. Overall, this is just the perfect jacket for cooler weather temps.

I ’ ve had this jacket for over two years and I still love it. I wear it most of the year with varying degrees of layers. I love the lower side pockets where I can tuck my hands comfortably( some of the other fjallraven parkas don ’ t have lower side pockets in the women ’s version). I love the variety of pocket types and locations and use all of them. I love the cut and style. I love the color. I have the blue one which is such a beautiful tone. And I love how durable it is. I spend a lot of time in the forest with thorny vines, conifer branches, and a rowdy dog, and it has held up amazingly. Even in lots of rain when the wax layer is up- to- date. It has faded a little. I ’ m not sure if the slight fade is because of use or because I need to be better at waxing it. Please never stop making this jacket.

So glad I have this coat. I live in SE Tennessee so winters are more mild than my original home in the Midwest, but the fit allows me to layer so I 'm confident even during my travels this jacket is a one stop shop. I bought a large. I 'm 5' 2 '', 34J and usually wear a M/L top, size 12. The large fits perfectly, again, with enough room to layer a sweatshirt or sweater underneath comfortably. It does n't look too big without the extra layer under it either. My ONLY super slight complaint is that the sleeves are way too long( which is a common complaint for me). If they were an inch shorter it would be completely perfect, but I think the cut of the coat is such that they 're meant to be longer anyway. It's a specific thing for us shorter folks and it's not anything to make or break the jacket for me personally. I went out of my way to pay full price for it just to get the color I wanted( it was on sale at a wholeseller but did n't have the Acorn color in stock any more), which is n't something I do often. I 've had similar coats that cost less but did n't fit as well, and the versatility, adaptability adjustability, potential longevity of this jacket makes it worth every penny.

Yes, this is a cropped boxy fit and runs a bit big. As long as you know that going into the purchase you won ’ t be disappointed. It ’s a FP dupe and a pretty good one( better than ones I found on Amazon). I am usually between a S and M and will often go with M in items like this to layer. But after reading reviews, I went with a S and I ’ m very happy. I can still layer under it but it ’s not too long, the sleeves are perfect and it ’s just baggy enough to be cute. I ’ m 5 ’ 3 ” and 145 for reference. I got the green and I like it but be warned it ’s a color that changes drastically depending on the light. This is one of the more convenient running items I have ever purchased and I love it. I also like the fit, as it sits right on the waist area. I usually prefer for these to go slightly below the waist, but this one is nice as is. If you are running and get too warm the ability to change it to a vest is so convenient. This will allow you to not have to drop the piece off at some random location during a race to have to come back and find, hopefully no one has taken it.
