This is the perfect jacket for any type of cold weather! I live in a mild winter climate but tend to visit places where it gets a little chilly and wanted a jacket that would work for all the things. I sized up to make sure I have extra room for layering. On its own, it is perfectly lightweight and but still keeps me warm. On colder days, I am able to layer a sweatshirt underneath and stay cozy. For reference, I am 5' 7 '' and typically wear a size Large; purchased an XL and it hits right below my bottom.

I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. [ I could n't wait to wear this jacket once the weather got cooler in Texas. The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I have n't had the chance to wash it, but the material seems like it will hold up well in a normal wash cycle. I think I may have needed to go to a smaller size, I had plenty of space in the jacket zipped.

I was looking for a jacket for cooler Spring and Fall days where a 'winter' coat is too heavy, but a windbreaker is too light. This jacket is the perfect in- between jacket for those days. I also love the fact that you can cinch the waist for a more flattering look, as well as the longer length in the back. The side pockets are deep enough to hold my cell phone, but if I could make one addition to this jacket it would be to have a cell phone pocket up near the chest, either inside or outside as other Columbia coat styles have. The Velcro tabs along the zipper and on the sleeve cuffs are very strong too which make for a secure fit. The jacket material feels very durable as well. I have n't worn it in the rain, but I 'm sure it will pass that test perfectly as well. The jacket is true to size and being a woman with a pear- shape body, the bottom portion of the coat fits perfectly- not snug, not baggy. I ’ ve had this jacket for over two years and I still love it. I wear it most of the year with varying degrees of layers. I love the lower side pockets where I can tuck my hands comfortably( some of the other fjallraven parkas don ’ t have lower side pockets in the women ’s version). I love the variety of pocket types and locations and use all of them. I love the cut and style. I love the color. I have the blue one which is such a beautiful tone. And I love how durable it is. I spend a lot of time in the forest with thorny vines, conifer branches, and a rowdy dog, and it has held up amazingly. Even in lots of rain when the wax layer is up- to- date. It has faded a little. I ’ m not sure if the slight fade is because of use or because I need to be better at waxing it. Please never stop making this jacket.

So glad I have this coat. I live in SE Tennessee so winters are more mild than my original home in the Midwest, but the fit allows me to layer so I 'm confident even during my travels this jacket is a one stop shop. I bought a large. I 'm 5' 2 '', 34J and usually wear a M/L top, size 12. The large fits perfectly, again, with enough room to layer a sweatshirt or sweater underneath comfortably. It does n't look too big without the extra layer under it either. My ONLY super slight complaint is that the sleeves are way too long( which is a common complaint for me). If they were an inch shorter it would be completely perfect, but I think the cut of the coat is such that they 're meant to be longer anyway. It's a specific thing for us shorter folks and it's not anything to make or break the jacket for me personally. I went out of my way to pay full price for it just to get the color I wanted( it was on sale at a wholeseller but did n't have the Acorn color in stock any more), which is n't something I do often. I 've had similar coats that cost less but did n't fit as well, and the versatility, adaptability adjustability, potential longevity of this jacket makes it worth every penny.

I ended up going with my normal size of XS after trying the XS and S. I 'm 5' 1 '' and 109 lbs for reference. The size small fit more oversized but the arm sleeve were slightly too long. If you 're between sizes, I would size up. My main concern was how cropped it might be and both jackets ended up hitting my waist at about the same spot so I went with the smaller size for the better arm and shoulder fit.

I LOVE this jacket. I do wish the hip area was more boxy and had a synch cord. It can be a bit tight on the hips even tough I sized up. I really like that the powder skirt is removable to get rib of the added bulk. I wish there was an outer chest pocket. The wrist cuffs are a bit bulky. The jacket is super warm but sometimes it feels like the seams are not windproof. Overall very happy with the purchase. 10/10 for style points.

[ Per the sleeve length, I thought they would be too long, but they are perfect. Love the fit. I bought the small. I am 5: 2 '', 105 '' and feel it's perfect fit wise. Have not worn it on the Mtn yet, but pretty sure it 'll be very warm. Only drawback is I wish it had pit zips.

[ I love this jacket and reach for it all the time. The fabric is much softer than my Arc ’ Teryx jackets which is maybe why I love it so much. The pockets are roomy and the hood is a nice close fit. This keeps me really warm, especially when I layer with wool underneath. I use it a lot during outdoor agility training with my dog and it also looks nice enough for everyday wear. The blue color is really pretty. Fjallraven never disappoints!
