I have only used them once so far, but it looks like the bottom white strap will probably get torn eventually, all depends on the type of terrain it gets exposed to. I went hunting with my brother in Idaho where he was living and was unprepared for the weather! Lucky for me my brother had these amazing gaitors! they saved my feet on a multiday upland hunting adventure. We hiked 30+ miles in snowy conditions, and not good dry snow but that wet nasty snow. I was initially skeptical of the durability of these gaiters. They are very lightweight and very packable. I used them on a 10 day hike in the arctic( fall conditions) and they surpassed all my expectations. They performed well in the dry sand, tundra bogs, through rock and boulder scrambles, driving rain and snow as well as the muddy quicksand. They stayed in place well, the draw cord at the top held fast. The waterproofing was excellent and maintained its breathability. Hanging them or laying them out under the tent's fly/vestibule allowed any mositure accumulated through the day to be dry by morning. For these type of conditions I would highly recommend them. I would be suspect of the durability to low branches and brambles in the south, but OR has solid options for that.

I do n't know how I lived without these! I am a snowmaker at a Utah ski resort and in the past I was constantly having to deal with wet boots, water wicking up my pants, etc. That is a thing of the past when wearing the gaiters. They are very well made and durable. Additional bonus is they keep the early season weeds, stickers, and cockleburrs off my pants as well. Very simple and easy to use. First, I ’ d like to share how amazing Vasque ’s customer service is. I initially purchased a differed boot that wasn ’ t hardy enough for the type of hiking I do- Vasque allowed me to return the boot immediately! So instead of going back to the brand I was with before( Scarpa) I decided to stick with Vasque and purchased this boot with my refund money. I am so glad I did. These boots really hold up with all the things the white mtns throw at you with little break in needed. I did need to loosely lace the boots and insert a toe box stretcher for my own needs but the boot has now confirmed to my foot. I fully submerged both feet by mistake several times. My feet were kept dry and warm. I felt my ankles were supported and my boots got more comfortable as my hike went on. I think I used the first 10 miles of the boot to break it in- and I just completed a 20 mile, 4 4000k peak hike in the whites. Zero blisters or hot points on my feet. Thank you vasque!!!

I bought these boots a month or two ago and honestly, I ’ ve been spoiled. No other shoe will do lol. I have hypermobile joints, arthritis in my feet, bunions, and roll my ankles a lot; I ’ ve been on the hunt for the perfect shoe for years so that I could not be in pain every time I walk and this is it! Fantastic arch support( especially with a memory foam Redwing insole), great ankle support( no more rolling ankles), and the fit and construction are perfect. Very little breaking in, just squeaky for a bit. Absolutely recommend for people with delicate feet or folks who need a lot of support! I can work on my feet all day and not feel any pain. I bought these boots three years ago to use exclusively for hiking. The break- in was painful but quick. Once broken in they feel like slippers. So much so that I wear them everyday as my work boots. I install landscape lighting daily and I ’ m not kind to these boots. Three years later they are still performing better than any boot I ’ ve ever purchased.
