I want to preface this by stating I purchased this rod in 2022, and the rod I have has different decals than the one listed, so I am unware if the quality of the rod has changed over this time. I bought this rod for inshore saltwater fishing, and it does an amazing job with jig applications. The rod has a good backbone, allowing for firm hooksets. Yet still has a sensitive enough tip to feel more subtle bites. This rod is great for black sea bass! I accidently put this rod to the test when trying to snag some bait with it, and hooking into a small shark. The rod held up well all throughout the fight and did not break. After that experience, I thought for$ 20 this thing has exceeded all my expectations. I paired my rod with a Penn Wrath 4000.

I ’ ve caught many bass over 4 pounds, big pickeral, big crappie, even a 10 lb catfish and it held up to it all. The one thing that got to it was a log in which I pulled back too hard and snapped it( I ’ m pretty sure I had damaged it previously to that moment) so with that being said it was my fault not the rods. This is a very nice set. I 'm comparing this to my Or is Clearwater and it's holding up well. The rod is similar in characteristics. It feels a little less sensitive but acceptable. The finish is matte and really nice looking. The price shows in small details. The pieces are not marked for fit and the openings are not sealed. Neither point is really an issue. The cork handle seems a bit soft and maybe a tad lower quality than the orvis. I think this could become an issue over time and extended use. The reel seems fine. Not as smooth as my orvis either but overall very close. Very happy with it. The weak point in my opinion is the line. While I 'm no expert, it does n't feel quite as good. It's definitely functional but does n't have an end loop for easy threading of the leader. That also makes it a bit rough to thread through the rod sometimes. Anyway, of course there's a reason for the price but at that price I recommend this set. On our first outing, my son caught 5(!) Really nice trout vs my 2 on the Orvis. Obviously that's more due to the flies he was using and his skills:-) but it shows that this set works well. All the other bells and whistles are not necessary needed. It may come down to durability in the end.

I use this 5' 6 '' UL pretty much exclusively for Trout fishing. Once you use this rod nothing will compare. The design is perfect. Small handle easy to hold and cast one handed. Has perfect balance. Flex is excellent and good back bone and fast action. Excellent casting accuracy for throwing small spinners in streams. Incredibly sensitive. Got this rod on sale around Christmas. Have been fishing with it a number times and think it's great. Ordered it online and it was shipped directly from Lew's perfectly wrapped. Caught a number of small bass but some medium sized ones but also a monster that had to weigh more than 8 lbs. It has handled everything perfectly and the rod is still perfectly straight. I love almost everything about the rod. I bought the 6, 6 medium 2 peice. It's light weight, and very sensitive, I feel every bite! The only down side I have to the rod is the bait holder hook on the rod is right under your hand, which is a terrible spot if using treble hooks, or any hooks for that matter. Other then that, it's a great rod for bass fishing!

Rod is good more whippy then I thought it would be. Also not the lightest rod but itll work for float fishing. If you are chucking lures all day get something else. Other then that this was the worst packaging I have ever seen for a rod. Just the bare rod with some paper in a massive box. If it was n't an ugly stick it would have been broken.

Spool with 15# braid and with a 1. 5oz bell sinker you 'll be able to get to the current seam you only dreamed of casting to. These rods catch fish!!! The featured rod with the standard long butt is the rod I recommend. The UL with the Michigan style handle is flimsy/noodle and will not cast as far because of the whip.

Had the M 7 ’ 6 ” on a 2500 reel for two years now. Honestly find myself going to this rod more often then my more expensive Bulls Bay rods. Top handle had a nice tapered cork grip that sets the reel low down so your hand isn ’ t crowded. And the lower grip has the perfect dimensions( in my opinion). I have fished on the tournament trail with this rod and it was very dependable. It held up well to boat abuse and shore line fishing in some rugged places. The rod guides are very strong. The parabolic flex of this glass composite rod was great for throwing swim baits, traps, spinner baits, crankbaits and chatterbaits from the Upper Bay to the Potomac. My hook up percentage was in the high 90's. I rarely lost a fish. Whether they hit at the end of a long cast or short striked at the boat the rod performed great. I bagged my PB of 5. 6 lbs with this rod and it was able to handle it with no problems. Do n't let the price fool you this is a great rod!

I 've got several ugly stiks and this rod is also really nice. First of all, it's a fast action rod which means the top 1/3 bends and the rest offers really strong backbone. It's specially great for offshore/boat fishing for rockfish, ling, hamachi, yellowfin, halibut, and striper. Also I love the one piece stainless steel guide rings. No need to worry about cracked ceramic. One thing would be great is having a bottom( butt) cap like Ugly Stik jigging rod. But it's not an issue at all. Anyways, it feets good and sturdy. Definitely satisfied with my purchase.
