I need shoes that: 1) Are supportive enough to actually hike in-- and 2) I can walk through and INTO muddy, rocky rivers and streams in( usually chasing my dog)-- and 3) Then keep hiking-- and 4) Have them dry overnight or faster so I can wear them again. It has been SOOO difficult to find these. `` Water Sandals '' are not supportive enough to hike in and THEY HURT, and are so open that all sorts of rocks and stones get into them and under your feet, and those rigid straps give me blisters. Standard `` waterproof '' shoes still let water in at the top if you actually submerge your feet-- and I do-- and get soaked from the inside out. And then take DAYS to dry. These shoes are closed with mesh( no rocks and stones getting in) and are MEANT TO GET WET and then dry quickly. And they actually are soft, and do n't give me blisters even without socks and everything gives me blisters!! WHY were these so hard to find? I would give 10 stars if I could, and have SERIOUSLY tried and tried to find shoes like these. You wo n't find them anywhere else( which I do n't understand).

This is my second pair of this shoe. I wore the first pair nearly every day, year round for three years until the soles wore down. Fit perfectly from day 1 and I used them for hiking, ordinary wear around town, and even to a casual restaurant dinner. Got many compliments along the way. I am male, wear a men's size US 6/Euro 39 shoe, and have difficulty finding my size, and a women's size 7. 5 works with this shoe. Asolo was a new brand name for me and I 'm sold on their quality and fit. The waterproof feature is a bonus, especially in winter.

[ I love the look of these and they were generally comfortable, but just wearing them around the house for a few minutes it was clear that the narrow footbed would be a problem on longer hikes, so sadly having to return. I do n't have particularly wide feet and usually do fine in regulars from other brands, these just run more narrow than most. They do also seem to run large- probably best to try in a store if you can.

I listened to reviews and sized up half a size, but definitely regret that decision a little as the 7 Normal width is just a bit too long for my 6. 5W feet. I took a chance and wore these on a day out in the city- walking several hours on concrete, inside buildings, up and down stairs. I had no issues with them, even with the sizing being a bit off, I had zero blisters with thin socks. They were extremely comfortable out of the box, and I did n't even need to replace the insole with orthotics like I normally do with new shoes. I love that they are waterproof, but still look very cute, and breathe. I do n't know that I would run/jog in these, but I can definitely see myself hiking in them.

[ I was on a quest to find a waterproof, cushioned hiking shoe for Torres del Paine “ O ” backpacking trek The final pairs were from Columbia and Hoka Speedgoat. The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I completed the trek and was compelled to write this review as the Peakfreak surpassed my expectations. The trek was around 70 miles with unforgiving terrain. This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. The only recommendation is to order 1/2 size up. I ’ m a true 9 1/2 and my toes were a bit crammed. I bought a size 10 and it fit perfectly.

Recently purchased these for our trip to Iceland. I was a bit skeptical at first due to the mixed reviews but ultimately decided the price at the time was something I couldn ’ t miss out on and was a risk I was willing to take! On our trip, they proved to be waterproof( at least up the ankle of course) and had a great fit. I first broke them in on our trip and they were very comfortable. Was excited that this style of Keen water sandals was back- similar to the Newport but with the more open toe webbing. But unlike the previous style( I think called Ventura?), the Velcro adjustable strap on this is a fail. The heel strap is very stiff due to the Velcro making these VERY uncomfortable to wear. I would kill for this with the regular heel strap like on the previous version or on the Newport. sigh

I ’ m a size 12 through and through, but these in the same size were tight. The toe box is smaller than normal. Also you need to take into account feet swelling and perhaps thicker socks. I wore these for the first time all day hiking around Grand Cyn Village. I was surprised there was no uncomfortable rubbing or stiffness which is very common with new hiking shoes. I was very impressed!

Took my Merrells to a winter trip to Amsterdam, Netherlands, when it was raining heavily, was windy, and cold.
