We bought this to start rowing( instead of cycling), so although we 're `` beginners '', we come from a lifetime of exercise. It's an excellent rower that's a direct comparable to the Concept2( think clone). The rower itself is perfect. The only element that could be improved is the computer/display. The data a rower wants altogether during a workout is spread across two screen modes, but it's not a large issue since one display mode shows the most used basic data. The Concept2 computer/display is far more evolved/refined, but the Ethos display lacks nothing important( although I will never know why folks want to see calories since that metric can not be accurate unless it takes into account body factors outside the computer's data).( In all fairness to the reader here, I 'm not convinced the power/watts metric is fully accurate but hopefully I 'm just wrong on this.) I hope Dick's guides improvements in the computer/display going forward. I 'd even be willing to upgrade the computer someday if new versions are released with more refined sophistication- the machine is really worthy of further improvement work.

I would have to say this is my first home gym and I am quite impressed. It wasnt too difficult to put together and no parts were missing. One thing I would have liked is if they labeled the right and left arms as well as use darker print on the part boards which labeled the nuts and screws. [ I received a free Stamina in option E1000 Compact Lower Body Cardio Workout Strider Machine by Spreetail in exchange for my honest review. Upon receiving the machine I noticed how heavy and well made it is. I put it together in under 10 minutes, it was super easy. The photos show people standing on this for use- I would say that is not really going to give you the greatest workout, it would be more to improve balance as the stride is very small. Too small to be effective while standing. As a seated cardio machine it is wonderful. It counts your stride or time which I thought was very cool for making goals. The resistance levels are also large enough to give someone brand new a challenge or a seasoned athlete some cardio. I shared this product with my dad as well who is 75 years old. He has trouble walking or standing for long periods because of hip pain. This gives him a way to exercise safely and without pain. It is pretty easily portable but is a bit heavy. It would be great to have under your work desk to get some movement while sitting for hours! All in all a very well made product.

I fell in love with rowing the first time I tried it( in a fitness studio)! The only issue was I did n't get to choose how much rowing I 'd be able to do each session and I always wanted more. After a few years of this, I finally decided to buy my own rower. And I love the NordicTrack RW900 Rower! It is very smooth, has lots of workout programs, and a super big monitor. You can choose from so many workouts( in beautiful settings), do your own workout, or set up a program on your own with iFit too. The huge monitor is super nice, making it more fun to do the workout programs( on gorgeous lakes in different places around the world). Or you can watch a movie on the monitor while rowing! There are a couple of things that bother me a little bit though. The seat is a little wobbly and small. And the straps on the foot pads do n't go tight enough if I 'm not wearing the right shoes( ones that have a wide base). But I think the seat is just different than what I 'm used to and I just need to get used to it. I 'm totally fine once I get moving. I do really love having my own rower in my home gym, and there really is n't a better option out there! So I 'm going to continue to row, row, row my boat on this fun piece of equipment! It is just such a good total body workout!

I prefer water rowers to any type of rower. You can fill it as much as you like for a strong or light resistance. I keep mine on the lower end so I can row for 15 minutes. Easy to move you lift up the front and you can push it anywhere with the wheels on the back. I pull it out into the sun and other days I keep it in the garage.

I was a little concerned it would be of poor quality due to the price compared to the others, but if you aren ’ t a peloton groupie and don ’ t need false encouragement tossed at you every five seconds, save some money and get this one. The water resistance is perfect, and once I get stronger the magnetic resistance is going to build on that.( If you do need some false encouragement, there ’s always Apple fitness+) It hooked seamlessly to my phone and the app works perfectly. I 've only been using this for four weeks. The product is sturdy and well constructed. The nylon strap looks and feels like it will provide lasting use. The handle is easy to grip and comfortable in the hands. The seat is comfortable and I 've had no issues with it. I 'm starting out with 30 minute sessions on low level to work on my technique and form and very much like the steady resistance. For older first time users on a rowing machine( I 'm 66), if you have n't already been exercising regularly this will give you a good initial workout at level 1. If you 're like myself and do regularly exercise but have n't used a rowing machine, once you feel comfortable with proper technique and form you 'll be ready to push upwards and this machine has very good resistance settings and built- in programs that will challenge you. There was a one of 4 screws that did not fit properly in the mounting hardware and my display ended up in a crooked position. The rowing machine arrived with a gash in the package and the metal shroud around the Magnet was bent. During assembly I was able to bend the shroud back into shape, thus removing the risk of injury during the use of the machine. Once assembled the machine worked smoothly. In regards to the damage during transport I had very prompt and competent interactions with both the seller and the manufacturer. Obviously, the damage was caused by neither of them, I got it fixed quickly and I enjoy the machine. I was happy with both the purchase process and the quality of the product.

Assembly was strait forward with all parts, hardware and simple tools provided.( Note that some screws and washers are preinstalled so do n't panic when inventorying hardware.) Was pleasantly surprised at how robust the rower is. The hydraulic cylinder provides just enough resistance for the intended user( seniors). Suggest keeping rowing sessions under 20 minutes to avoid overheating the cylinder.

I had the air version and upgraded to this one with air and magnetic resistance. It ’s an upgrade for sure with resistance. Less productive at the 30 minute mark. Only concern with this product is longevity as the volute spring went on the prior model. But I stayed with Sunny as the overall product is good and it lasted long enough to where I don ’ t feel it was a financial loss. I used it often. Fingers crossed this last 2+ years with almost daily use.

The rower was easy to put together- my 73 yo sister put it together by herself! It's easy to use. As I 'm in my early 70s and have a permanent leg injury, I am starting quite slowly. But, I am rowing 5 days a week. I think consistency is key. Love it!

I just purchased this machine. Let me tell you it is sturdy. The only issue I have noticed is the pedal spacing is farther apart than what I was used to on my very simple and little hydraulic machine by SunnyHealth. But the drive is smooth, the ride is more comfortable because of the fan. and the padded seat. I use this with HOLODIA app on Quest 2 and really enjoy rowing. The main piece is pre- asasembled. You add the pedals, the seat, the slidebar and the rear stabilizer. Very pleased with the sale price and the additional 10% off. Brought the machine cost down to 495. And it is well packaged and protected. It had rained for 3 days and the box was a mess. But nothing touched the machine inside. Lucky for me, my grandson put this together in no time just by watching the assembly video. Thanks SUNNYHEALTH!

I love this machine. My back is really screwed up and the rowing machine allows me to exercise my entire torso at the same time I work my legs. Would highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking to strengthen their body.

I may have just started using my new rowing machine, but I am feeling a tightness in my abdominal muscles. This is a machine I can use. I am in a wheelchair full time, and to be able to transfer from the chair to the rowing machine is fairly easy, it just takes a few minutes longer for me.

We assembled it quickly and easily( we are NOT handy people) and it works very well. I 'm a beginner so I ca n't comment on the display- I 'm just trying to burn calories, not race. I like the fact that it's higher than other water rowers because I have lower back issues, so the fact that it's a bit higher, and also that the back/seat is higher than the feet seems to alleviate stress on my lower back. The only `` surprise '' was that it is a bit noisier than other water rowers BUT I think that's because of the tilt of the tank. That said, I think the tilt makes for a better workout because it seems like you 're pulling the propellers through more water( pooled at the bottom of the tank) than you would be with the same amount of water in a flat tank. Frankly, when I tested the flat/level tank it felt `` too easy '' for me. Yes, I know it's about how fast I pull, but I like the additional resistance. It's not so much that it's noisy as that I ca n't watch/listen to anything unless I make it loud. My husband said you barely hear it in the rest of the house. I just wear earbuds so I can listen. One other thing to note: even though you can put an iPad on the lip of the display, you have to be sure to tilt it backwards a bit so the display does n't flop forward from the weight. Last, but not least, you ca n't beat the price( and nominal delivery charge) and availability. It arrived within a few days of ordering it. Great purchase!

We purchased this after doing a fair amount of research on rowing machines and we are glad we did. We get a good aerobic workout along with a balanced upper and lower toning. As Seniors we started slowly and gradually increased the intensity and length of time on the machine. This rower is well made, compact, and fun to use. No regrets here!
