I 'm not someone who enjoys exercise, and while I 'm on it I do n't love it, but I find myself drawn back to the thing almost everyday. I have done 100 jumps when exhausted and it has woken my brain up. Although it does fold up, I do n't think I 'm strong enough to it alone so I carry it upstairs when I 'm done. I bought these to replace an old pair that was 10 years old, and these are excellent. I have used them to walk on local trails and sidewalks in slippery wintery conditions- 4 plus miles at a time. One thing you should consider with these is the great feature that has the strap over the top that keeps them well in place- the basic Yaktrax do n't have that. I wear with hiking shoes/boots and did size one up to cover the type of shoe sole.

After many unsatisfying purchases and many returns, I have found the exact shoe I have been looking for, for use in long distance walking. It is very difficult to find a shoe that has lots of cushion* and* a more minimalist arch support( I have found that Hoka and even Altra just have too much arch support, which is uncomfortable if you have a flatter foot and/or do n't want or need arch support). The only thing I did n't like was the un- cushioned tongue, which was pressing a bit too much into my front ankle tendons. I solved this problem by using scissors to cut a small slit in each tongue to relieve that pressure( see photo). Now they are perfect! I will be buying these again.

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points. Tl; dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear
