This is one of the more convenient running items I have ever purchased and I love it. I also like the fit, as it sits right on the waist area. I usually prefer for these to go slightly below the waist, but this one is nice as is. If you are running and get too warm the ability to change it to a vest is so convenient. [ I 've been a fan of Showers Pass rain gear for a long time, and this jacket is just my most recent edition. Very thoughtfully designed with MTB in mind. The vents keep you cool when working hard. The detachable hood is a great option, once you figure out where to stash it so it does n't get lost. The sleeves cinch up just right so you can regulate air flow or totally lock it out. The reinforced shoulders are great for those long days out on the mountain. I 'd read in one review that it is n't packable, but I 've been able to fit my medium into a fanny pack no problem. Last, the attached microfiber cloth for lens cleaning is super useful. My chest size suggested a small would work, and it did fit my chest, but my arm length needed the medium. The jacket fits trim and is not too baggy.

It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. Absolutely killer jacket. Bought it to use for teaching a backpacking class in the late fall in high mountains of Idaho where it can get pretty cold pretty quick. Used it in- 10f weather with a baselayer underneath and shell on top and stayed toasty the whole time. Provides an honestly impressive amount of wind resistance even on the seams. Bought to use layering when backpacking or hiking. Great warmth to weight ratio. Packs down very well. So far have only used it walking the dog on mornings in the high 20s. Worked well for that and so I expect it will perform just as I want it to when backpacking.

It is currently summer, so I can not comment on its warmth retention, but the thickness is just right, not too thick or thin. The craftsmanship appears to be good, and it is very lightweight.

Amazing. Such a great jacket; it ’s lightweight, breathable, good for active use, feels extremely well made, and has a great fit. At 6 ’ 1, 165lbs, the medium felt tailored. The octa lining is done fantastically. Pertex and octa are both some of the best durable, lightweight, and breathable materials and pair amazingly well. Construction is some of the best I ’ ve seen; very heavy duty dual use zipper that works like butter is amazing to see on such a lightweight garment. Dual chest pockets also clutch and super practical if wearing harnesses. Hand pockets have sync and keychain holders, and feel great to use in a more casual environment. Octa is like super synthetic cashmere, extremely well insulating. This jacket I think can work in any environment from below freezing to upper 60 ’s with proper layering. Simply one of the best jackets of all time imo.

I bought this shell to match my carbide bib and I love it! I 'm 5' 5 115lbs and the XS is a tailored fit while still roomy enough to layer up with a fleece and thick puffy jacket. This jacket is light and would be great on its own for spring skiing. Taped seams, good ventilation, and lots of quality details. The tree line colour is beautiful and I 've had so many compliments at the resorts. I 've owned several OR shells over the past few years and this is my favourite! Worth the buy

I like the flexibility and softness of the fabric and the fit is good. Ihave not warn it yet in snowy or rainy conditions but hopefully it will hold up well. I am 5' 3 '' and sleeves are a little longer. Its great OR makes various lengths of pants. It would be nice to have shells and jackets in petite sizes. If they were available OR would not have much competition for the `` short '' market

Nice lightweight sun shield. Not particularly cool to wear temperature wise. I like the color and feel of the fabric. Only drawback is the zipper it difficult to engage and unengaged. Hope it gets better with more use.
