I was looking for cargo shorts to replace the ones I had. In the past cargo shorts had a lot of pockets and were made of heavy cotton. It has been a while since I purchased shorts. I purchased the shirt for a 3 1/2 week kayak, snorkeling, and walking trip to Palau in the eastern Pacific, and used it about every other day. This is a well designed shirt that is comfortably soft and blocks the sun both when dry and wet. I felt it was comfortable in hot and humid weather. The hood stays in place in the wind and while snorkeling. The sleeve gauntlets will cover the back of your hand when paddling- important in intense sun. Unlike the other sun shirt I had, this shirt does not stretch out of shape when wet, and it will dry overnight if you hang it up.
