I liked the leather uppers and stainless steel blades which were well sharpened out of the box. Stainless steel is harder than other steels and does not rust. The fit was great, but order a size smaller than your normal size. They are easy to skate on and well balanced, tho I am a beginner skater, I do love these skates. Good job Lake Placid.

I 'm a beginner skater and invested in some skates since I live near a rink now and can go skate at least three or four times a week. I tried out various skates( including the less expensive Lake Placid Cascade skates) before I settled on the Alpines. These skates were far superior to any of the others. They are sooooo comfortable- even after skating for a couple hours. The memory foam lining of the boot also feels like it's molding to my foot. Great ankle support and the leather boot was worth the extra money( the Cascade skates are plastic/pleather). I highly recommend these if you 're looking for a good, affordable pair of skates. A note about sizing: I wear a 9. 5 and the size 8 fit great.

These are actually the Alpine 900's. They are comfortably wide, plenty of toe room. I normally wear a women's size 9. I ordered a 9 for me and a 7 for my daughter. The 9's were about an inch too long. I decided to try my daughter's on and they fit well with room for comfort. I have flat arches and over pronating hind feet so I was thrilled my orthotics fit in place of the company made insoles. There is arch support in the Tivoli Resort that is comparable to that in Tivoli. The higher platform and deep tread is ideal for the snowy slushy winter terrain. The insulation works perfectly even in below 10 degree weather with windy conditions. The higher top and faux help keep the ankle to calf part of lower leg protected and warm. Super happy I purchased these winter boots. We do n't get snow often but when we do the city is horrible at managing it and these boots are a game changer. Pulling my kiddo up hills in the forest to go sledding, they managed the terrain. They kepts my feet dry, warm and super cozy. I found these while searching for a pair of long lasting waterproof snow proof winter boots. I have to say I ’ m very picky about boots, so when I got these, I was a little disappointed to see they didn ’ t have a side zipper, but that ’s my fault for not reading thoroughly. The description says leather and suede upper, but that ’s only the stripe, the actual majority of the boot is a soft canvas, which isn ’ t what I was looking for. I wasn ’ t a huge fan of the shape of them, as they seem to accentuate the widest point of my calf, but overall they ’ re very nice and they fit well when I tried them on. They are thick inside so they might feel tight with a thick sock, but they were immediately super warm so a thick sock doesn ’ t seem really necessary. I was feeling a little silly getting a pair of these so late in the season but with our snowstorm in Western NY this weekend, I 'm super glad! My feet stay really warm and cozy and when i brush off my car, the snow does not get down into my boots. Absolutely love them and hope they last for many years. I did have to get a full size and a half bigger to fit thick socks but they are perfect now.

For reference, my foot length is 25 cm and width 10 cm, and the size I tried on was EU 39( just because the retailer sent me a wrong size; I initially ordered EU 40). The size fit me but was really snug. I then tried these same shoes in a store and found out my perfect size was EU 40, 5 if I wantes to fit a thicker sock. I never ended up getting these for good though. They are so chic and quite comfy but I ’ m still thinking if they ’ re really practical and fit my style.

These boots are pretty Awesome! I have had the caribous- 2 pairs over 30 years!! and they are great for super snowy days but they are a heavy boot. These are nice and lightweight and still warm. I did size up after I ordered my normal 6. 5, TOO small. I was a little worried the 7's would be too big but they are great- I do have a little room in the heel but it is fine. I walk my dog almost everyday at least a mile if not 3 or 4 and these feel great. I should mention I do wear thin socks since I saw another review and she said she sized up because she wears thick socks. I do not own thick socks- they are not my preference. Buy these boots they are awesome

I have been looking for a boot to replace my discontinued Keen Elsa ’s for 3 years- so glad I finally found these. I have been walking the dog in them for months& hust spent 4 days walking 8+ miles a day in Canada in temps between 5F- 40F and was comfortable the entire time. They are so squishy and support my extremely high arch very well. Would definitely recommend.

These are my favorite shoes of all time. They ’ re so warm I only wear thin socks with them. They ’ re more comfortable than tennis shoes with a really great supportive squishy sole. I wear them all winter long in Pittsburgh. I think of them as a great commuter shoe, you can walk in them all day and they ’ ll keep out the inclement weather.
