First pair of breathable waders, was hesitate buying these as I had n't heard of Frogg Togg. Ive had other brand name waders but Im extremely satisfied with these, very durable. I had to hike through some rugged territory to get to a favourite location, figured i done them in on day one. But with scrub brush and sliding down the side of a bank on my butt they never even had a pin hole. If these wear out id buy another pair no questions. Just purchased these waders, and they appear very well made and rugged. I certainly hope they 're not discontinued( it almost seems that way when I read the Frogg Toggs lineup, ever since the introduction of the Hellbenders anyway) because I want to recommend them to numerous friends. They 're built so much better than the economy waders I 've been using( which after a season or so developed leaks I could n't find, and no amount of shoe goo would keep me from having a legful of water and two soggy socks, every trip). I try to be easy on gear and I fully expect to use these fine Sierran waders for many, many years. I have yet to get them into the water but if they leak there's a full- year warranty. They 're REALLY well made. I 'm just under 6' 1 '' and about 188 pounds, and the `` LARGE '' are perfect for me.( Other afffordable waders need XL for me but these are pretty true to size-- they still have room for a fleece jacket and other warm clothing, too.)

These are by far my best investment! They are comfortable, durable, and functional to the highest degree. I work as a fly fishing guide in a remote part of Alaska during the summer and these things took a beating and then some! When I ordered online, I was worried about size because I have a small frame but usually wear a size 8 shoe. I ordered the small regular( I 'm about 5' 3 '', 130lbs) and the waders fit like a glove, still allowing me a good range of motion, and the stockingfoot does n't feel too small. Wearing a puffy coat or extra layers underneath makes these a bit more snug so that's the only thing that made me wish I had sized up, but they still fit just fine. If you 're obsessed with fishing and need a solid pair of waders that will stand up to even the worst terrain and conditions, these are beyond worth the money.

The Women's G3 Guide Z stocking foot waders are excellent. They are lightweight, but warm and seem to be tough. I was a bit concerned when I pulled them out of the box. They were so light and soft I thought, man I 've messed up, these will never take my brand of fishing. But I think I misjudged them. I 've been in a river with them twice, and a creek once. Time will tell about durability. But thus far I 'm really impressed. In ways, they 're too big, but that will be great for layering under. I do wish more foot sizes where offered, but so far even that has posed no real problem. They are worth the money if being out on the river is what makes you happy.

[ I 'm new to the fly fishing game, but these appear to be great waders. I have n't used them yet because I live in Arizona and we do n't have water here, but I plan to soon. The sizing is very true and I am glad the picture is not actual size because if it was they would barely fit on my finger. Everyone says that Simms are the trusted name in wading equipment and from what I see so far, that appears to be very much the case.

Great durable waders, the padding on the knees are great for low profile casting near spooky fish. Only downside I can find is I wish it had more belt loops going forward so I didn ’ t have to re- set it every time and so I can carry a holster.

I ’ ve used these three times and like them a lot. They replaced an old pair of waist high hunting waders that had started to leak. They ’ re comfortable to get around in, though a bit long. The cuffs and reinforced knees are great features. Pockets are handy but not bulky. Belt needs loops. Quality seems excellent. I only use them in winter so I hope they last a long time.

This is the first pair of waders I 've had to buy in 15 years an OH BOY what an upgrade. They 've seen a handful of trips since purchase. When it was 65F outside they did not feel hot; when it was 28F outside this last weekend with a base layer under they felt just warm enough standing in the middle of a river. I really like the external knee pads-- scrambling up and down slightly sketchy canyons to try and catch a trout, sharp rocks were just one less thing to worry about. The chest pockets are also well placed for easy access. I like that the guards that go over your boots do n't have a hook on them but instead fit tight enough onto the boot themselves to hold strong without me noticing. Zero hesitations in recommending these for anyone looking to stand in a river and slay trout.

I am really thrilled with my new waders- they exceeded all of my expectations. They are extremely well made, very comfortable and kept me warm during a long weekend of fishing. I spoke to a customer service rep before ordering to help with sizing. I ordered a small short, which seemed to fit all my measurements except for the boot size. The small short worked out perfectly. For reference, I 'm 5' 3 '' and 135lbs. The boot insert was initially a bit small( I have size 7. 5- 8 feet) but stretched out as I was fishing and is now very comfortable. I paired the waders with the salt boots for striper fishing and so far I am completely satisfied with the overall fit and feel while in them. That said a little hiking and fishing in them will tell the whole story. So far so good.

I have now had three pairs of Freestone waders, the last of which was the zip model and I do believe the convenience of the zipper justifies the cost differential. I probably spend around 75 days a year in waders with around half of these being hard use days consisting of climbing over rocks, busting brush, and hiking. At this level of use, the Freestones have lasted me 2- 3 seasons before they are at the end of their service life and I find this very acceptable for the price point. All of the waders ultimately failed in high abrasion zones in the seat/crotch/between thighs due to the waterproof membrane layer becoming worn and delaminating from the other layers and tearing. This may sound bad, but after hundreds of miles of abrasion and wet- dry cycles this is all one can expect from Toray fabric in a properly fitting and cared for wader. The 4 layer Toray is fairly puncture- resistant. Despite most of the thorns and brush contacting the 4 layer portion, most of the pinholes would be in the thinner upper portion. Overall, I was very pleased with the durability and features of the Freestone line for the price point, but have since upgraded to a Gore- Tex wader. If you expect to put as much wear and tear on a pair of waders as I do, then you may consider doing the same, but for causal anglers looking for a solid and feature rich offering you 've found the best value with the Freestones.

Ordered size 9 my normal size and they fit perfect. After I put them on the first time I could tell they would be hard to take off. First half dozen times I wore them I put a plastic shopping bag over each foot to make it easier to get them off. They have since loosened up alittle so no more shopping bags. So far great boots. The plain earth color seems to blend well with multiple habitats in multiple seasons in S. Louisiana. The boots are insulated enough that my feet were comfortable during my first hunt in sub freezing temps. The uninsulated upper is perfect as I can wear them during early teal or frogging season as they seem to breath well. I 'm 5'10 '', 190lbs( 32 '' waist) and wear 10. 5- 11 in shoes. I had been waiting and watching reviews on these waders for the last few months before pulling the trigger on them. After hunting in them over the last few weeks in several different places, they have impressed me. The fit is perfect. I hunt 30- 40 times a season, so these will be put to the test over the remainder of this season and next. Only thing I ’ ve found missing is D- loops. But I made my own using a ziiptie and it ’s worked fine. I think these will contend with the likes of Chene and Sitka. And the warranty looks to be the same if not better.

I have owned many waders over the past 40 years and these are by far the best well made and quality waders that I have ever owned. They are durable, comfortable and keep my dry. These are the best waders on the planet. Mine are the previous version introduced in 2018. They fit like no other wader and they perform like no other wader. I have never had a leak. I had them customised with a different bootie size for a modest additional charge. My advice is don ’ t sit down on anything with spikes and don ’ t march through any bushes with spikes. That seems like common sense to me. Superb waders. I anticipate writing an equally positive review of my waders in several years time. Worth every penny( I live and fish in Scotland) or cent.

I am a fish biologist in Washington State and wear waders pretty much two thirds of the year conducting stream and river surveys. I have owned several pairs of Simms waders and love the durability, flexibility, and breathability of the G3's. They are surprisingly rugged and have held up bushwhacking through blackberries, salmonberries and devils club, which can shred lesser waders.

G3 waders are just the ticket for me. High quality materials: durable, flexible, optimum weight. Adding the pants to my full wader set gives me the best option for water and weather conditions. Adding a small back pocket would be a nice feature.

Dec 2023 on the Mo. Too windy for my poor fly fishing skills, so I was helping youngest with egg sacs. Boots are awesome. Follow the Simms sizing. I 'm a 9 in street shoes and ordered 10s. Run with wool socks and heated socks on top and still have a little room. I had a cheap K brand boot before and these are so much better. So much more support and structure. Especially if you have a hike to get to your spot. So glad I got these on sale. If they have your size, just buy them.
