Neither my husband or I wore a bike helmet in the past. This spring I bought an expensive bell helmet mail order and wore it two or three times before leaving it on the shelf for good it felt a little large too me and very uncomfortable. After i got my husband a speedometer this summer we noticed we were often going 20 mph or faster. After my husband came home From a solo ride where he said he was going particularly fast almost 30 mph( yikes) I told him that he should really be wearing a helmet and suggesting he try the helmet I had bought. I noticed my husband returned home from from his next few solo rides with my helmet. I finally asked how he liked wearing a helmet and he told me it was quite comfortable and made him feel much safer. He also asked how i would feel If he wore it while We rode together. I of course told him i was fine with that. After a few rides where he wore it and i wore my hat, I decided to buy another helmet, but this time i decided I was going to the store to try some on. [ Absolutely love this helmet. Tried hard to go with either the POC Tectal or Kortal prior to buying this one and I 'm so glad I did! It fits like a glove and I totally forget I 'm wearing it while riding. It's by far not as bulky as the POC helmets and it also feels at least subjectively lighter. Love the color schemes as well and can not praise the fit of this helmet enough. Sizing is spot on and the magnetic buckle is also a plus.

I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology—Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

While wemake the kids wear helmets my husband and i do not wear helmets. When my husband got into mountain biking last year he picked up A bell sixer for his off road adventures. He only wears if when he is in the woods or trails never on the bike path with the fam. I had started bilking on my day off while the kids were at school. Last week it was raining when i was going to ride. I was going to bag the ride but decided to just wear my rain jacket. As i was headed out i saw my husband ’s helmet hanging there and decided to wear it since the streets would be slippery. I slipped it on and adjusted it up. It is light and fit well. I did have my hood over it so I can not comment on the venting. It did not move and felt very safe.

My husband and I did not wear helmets. As my husband started riding more mountain and off road i purchased him a bell 4forty for his off road adventures. He generally only wears it in the woods and even then not all the time( which is fine by me). He says it fits nice and is comfortable and feels very substantial and he is often glad he has it. It ’s very lightweight and with the various sizes of cheek pads and headliner I was able to custom fit it to my liking. First ride with this was a full day at a bike park. Neither my husband or I previously wore a helmet. My husband does ride quite regularly and often by himself and i have suggested he buy himself a helmet. Earlier this summer I noticed a new silver halyconhelmet in the garage with the bike stuff. Not gon na lie it looked pretty good. Since it was not mine it had to be my husband ’s although he never mentioned getting it. Since he usually rides by himself it was easy to envision him wearing it on rides. The helmet fit my normal female head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap and we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual as my husband told me to slow down at least once. When we were done as i was taking it off my husband asked what I thought. I told him i liked it and wanted my own. He said that would be great and that he felt a little bit naked without it on.. Hope to never test it but it honestly feels very safe and substantial

My husband is probably the safest most conscientious biker i know. He follows the rules of the road wears lots of bright clothes and is never fast or dangerous. [ This is a great helmet for the price that comes with outstanding features. It is one of the most comfortable helmets I ’ ve ever tried too! The large fits my 59cm long oval shaped head really well. It ’s a little bulky but that is okay but not too bad. The fidlock chin strap is a really nice feature and I like the 3 point adjustable visor. Can not forget about the 5 star VirginiaTech safety rating and warranty as well!

My wife has had this helmet for several years. She wore it pretty regularly until this past summer. Last year she decided that helmets were unnecessary and did not really provide much protection and that their effectiveness was overrated. I never wore a helmet so it was no concern to me. Some friends i occasionally ride with wanted me to take aride with them but informed me i needed a helmet so i took my fifes old fixture. Bell is big- headed friendly. Their bicycle helmets are just a touch larger than other brands even though the specs have the same listing. I 've purchased motorcycle helmets from Bell too and it's the same. If you got a XXL head then checkout Bell first. Also super cheap for decent quality.
