This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

My first in dark olive is about 5 years old stood up well through outdoors work and chores got a bit bobbled but I gave it a shave not long ago and it looks as good as new. It's warm and comfy. Soft fleece, lots of zippers and pockets. Got the gray, the fleece is different from my other Denali's. The fleece is maybe softer than the usual Denali fleece. The fleece does shed, which I guess happens with the softer fleece. It is way more cropped than the older Denali as well. The name should say `` Cropped ''. I 'm considering sizing up to see if it will make any difference, but that means the sleeves will be much wider. I 'm not sure why the under arms are soooo huge maybe to decrease sweating hence the zippers under the arms. They should have two options for the Denali, one with a regular length and one cropped for women. This one is functional, but will rise up. I buy a new Denali every few years, this one is very different. The prices keep going up and the jackets and sweaters keep getting shorter.

The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I have n't had the chance to wash it, but the material seems like it will hold up well in a normal wash cycle. This jacket has ended all desire to purchase anything else. Great quality and build. It ’s kept me warm and dry on chilly pow days and the vents keep me cool on the sunnier days. The oversized hood goes over my helmet and keeps me very cozy. Easily the best jacket I ’ ve invested in. It is a little big but that does allow me to layer comfortably while still maintaining mobility. I ’ d prefer this over a tighter fit and baggy is steezier anyway. If anything, I would prefer zippered internal pockets but that ’s just me being nit picky.

This is the perfect jacket for any type of cold weather! I live in a mild winter climate but tend to visit places where it gets a little chilly and wanted a jacket that would work for all the things. I sized up to make sure I have extra room for layering. On its own, it is perfectly lightweight and but still keeps me warm. On colder days, I am able to layer a sweatshirt underneath and stay cozy. For reference, I am 5' 7 '' and typically wear a size Large; purchased an XL and it hits right below my bottom.

If I were to change anything, I think it would be to have cuffs at the wrist instead of just a piece of elastic. Definitely not a deal breaker though. I got my normal size and it fits true. [ This is my new go- to lightweight jacket, it's so versatile! The oversized fit makes it super comfortable to wear either on it's own or as a layering piece when more warmth is needed. The zipper and zipper pulls are also surprisingly sturdy and great quality for being a very light weight jacket. The design of the jacket is super cool and interesting, there's a few handfuls of design elements that make it stand out more than just a plain black jacket- definitely looks very modern with the color blocking of a very dark grey and black fabric, and the subtle Nike logo stitched in black on the back. The fabric has a windbreaker feel to it, which can be a little noisy during a run, but I prefer it as protection against weather elements. The weather has not been cooperating for me to test this jacket out with long runs( spring, where are you?!) but I have taken a few short walks/runs while wearing it and absolutely love it. I was between either a medium or large( I 'm 5ft4in and 155 lbs for reference) and went with the large but I think a medium would work for me if I wanted less of an oversized look. I like the black/gray/reflective design, there's details you do n't even notice at first glance like the reflective `` Nike '' above one pocket. The fabric feels like it will be perfect protection from the chill of the wind on a sporting day! And I love the 2 way zipper and the spacious pockets!
