Though I am not a runner, I find these very useful for light jogging, on the treadmill or casual wear. They provide a good support and perfect even when I have them on for more than 12 hrs. Came to this shoe after 500 miles on a pair of NB fresh foam x more V4, a heavier more cushioned shoe. After initial run, I found these to be comfortable, supportive and very light/fast. I was n't thrilled with any of the women's models/colors in wide width, so I decided to purchase the Men's Escalante 4( mens regular is equivalent to womens wide width) instead. I wear a 10- 10. 5 wide in womens and went with the mens size 9 in black/white- perfect fit. Of course I wish the color was a bit more feminine, but at least there was a neutral option! I 'm new to the wide toe box, zero drop but I 'm absolutely in love with this shoe& hope I never have to go back to traditional tennis shoes. Zero- drop requires some adjustment time- my calves have been BURNING on walks, so I 've had to slow it down. FYI I tried Flux footwear first, but they are ridiculously narrow, so I had to return( also beware their return policy). I wear my new altras for walking and strength training primarily, and I plan to wear them when I visit London for 10 days in October. So happy with my purchase overall. One critique is I 'd like to see more wide- width options for women.

After running in the Torins and getting injured, like a fool I researched after. Knowing I need supporting shoes, I bought the Paradigm 5s and absolutely loved them. Once they wore out I bout the the 6s the foam was too soft and not supportive like the 5s. The 6s were also not responsive like the 5s. I took a gamble on the 7s because I heard they were firmer and they are way better than the 6s. People that started on the 6 probably wo n't like that, but people who started before the 6s and went to Paradigm for support will love them compared to the 6s.

I ’ ve used this shoe on grass, dirt, pavement, and track, and it performs great on all. I ’ ve used this shoe since July, so I would estimate 100- 200 miles, and there isn ’ t too much wear. The fit of the shoe is great, love the snug feel. Not crazy amount of traction, but the hole in the bottom( where the plate is) can get some mobility out of the rocker. The DNA flash is very soft in the heel, and lessens further forward, giving soft landing and fast release. This shoe can be used of really any distance in speed. Only complaint I ’ ve had is the ankle bump it has, it gave me soreness one time, but never happened again, so it shouldn ’ t be a problem.

Amazing shoe, fast and bouncy but not squishy. Relatively stable considering this is a racing shoe. I prefer them to my Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 because I recover faster after a hard workout in the Hyperion Elite 4. Elite 4 is comparably more stable than the Endorphin Pro 4. Excellent upper and ventilation. DNA Flash 2 foam does not stiffen up in the cold. I appreciate the design of the laces and how it makes it harder for them to get undone. Fit is perfect on my slightly wide feet. These shoes do n't get proper justice from some online reviewers and I do n't agree with that. I am really happy I gave them a try and they are permanently in my rotation now until I wear them down.

This is my first pair of proper running shoes and I love them so far! Used to run in some old Asics I got on clearance, but now that I ’ m getting into running more consistently I bought these. I have very flat feet and collapsed arches, and these were recommended for me because of their supportive centre path tech. The first 5k i ran in these I got nasty blisters on the insides of the my feet where my arch was being held up. If this is the case for you, don ’ t give up on these shoes yet. I wish I had broken them in more slowly but they are super comfortable now. Ran my first 10K in these shoes, something I never thought I ’ d be able to do after having some pretty nasty shin splints and knee pain from playing soccer my whole life. Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

I have been a long time Hoka Stinson wearer for hiking but the soles do n't hold up well for Grand Canyon and slick rock hiking. I decided to try the Olympus 6's and have been very pleased. The Vibram soles are grippy and durable with the same plush cushioning that I enjoyed with the Hokas. The Olympus runs about 1/2 smaller than the Hokas which caused the hassle of sending back a pair. There was a break in period for the cushioned heel but felt much better after a week. I 'm wearing them for a rim to rim later this month and if they do well with that, I 'm hooked.

I 'm an Altra purist and have been for 3 or 4 years. I have road and trail styles, but with the Olympus 6, Altra just outdid themselves. I purchased these for trail running on small gravel/dirt trails around the beach trails in the hills of the SoCal coast. Nothing technical, just a good sturdy and grippy shoe. The structure and protection level in the Olympus 6 is perfect- the toe has protection and the edge and bite of the sole works great. I was also looking for cushion and I would say the cushion is cloud- like. The reduction in fatigue from long runs is really noticed. The shoe is sturdy, but the comfort is level 10. By far my favorite 10+ miler trail shoe I 've ever worn. I have to order another pair as these quickly became my dailies. I work in film production and I have lived in these since I purchased them. And not that I care, but I 've gotten more compliments and asks about these shoes! The best- I ca n't say it enough.

These are true to size, perhaps slightly narrow in the toe but not enough to size up IMO. I love these shoes! I had two pairs of the 5s. The rubber did come off on the bottom the first week but I superglued it back on. I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc in these babies and they did great! Love the extra cushioning and durability. Will definitely buy them again for my next long hike. The extra cushioning prevented any foot pain. I 'd say they lasted a whole summer of maybe 200 miles of hiking!

[ I have been using the Altra Olympus 6 for hiking, running, and fastpacking. This is my first time trying a full- cushion trail shoe, but I have been road running in the Altra Torin for about 6 years. After about 25 miles of mixed terrain, weather and landscapes, I feel this shoe excels in climbing and tackling dry, loose terrain. I felt stable and powerful sprinting up sandy hillsides and dusty singletrack. The shoe absorbs the impact of large gravel, and bites into turns well. I slid around a bit on large wet roots and slick rocks under the stiff midfoot but recovered quickly and happily traded that for the protection from sharp obstacles. The high stack kept my feet dry when encountering mud and puddles, while the well ventilated upper kept me comfortable on long, hot days. The contoured form around the Achilles took a little getting used to, but it worked to lock my heel on ascents; no hot spots. Laces stay tied. Altra gave me this free product to try, and I 'm looking forward to putting many more miles on it.

[ All I run in is Altra's, so I was stoked when Altra gave me this free product to try. The Olympus 6's look a bit like oversize clown shoes, however, they are SO comfortable I just love running in them! Recently, I was running up a muddy hill along Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and some guy and his dog tried to run up the same hill, and he started sliding down it! I reached my hand out to help him get up the hill, and so he grabbed onto it, and the grip of these shoes was nearly strong enough to hold up him and me, but eventually he started to drag me down the hill with him, so I yelled at him to let go, as he propelled up. It was reaffirming to me though how well these Olympus 6's performed compared to other trail shoes- especially on the wet/muddy ground! These Olympus 6's have one heck of a grip! The colors are decent( I always prefer men's colors to women's, but the women's are okay on this model shoe). The heel is a bit large on me, and the shoes look silly on my skinny legs, but these really are super comfortable shoes that still feel pretty lightweight( all things considered) and really do perform well! For someone looking for a high cushioned shoe with good traction, I 'd highly recommend the Olympus 6's. Thanks Altra for providing these shoes for free to me so I could review them. I sure do love them!

These are my new favorite running shoes. The all around comfort and fit is great. I immediately noticed an improvement in cushioning, compared to what I was used to, when I first put them on. The running experience is improved as well. The responsiveness of the Zoom technology is perfect.

Hey if you are looking for comfort and performance out of your shoe. This shoe is one of the best cushion shoes next to the Nike signal d/ms/x. Especially on the treadmill it gave me extra cushion and spring with every step. I run about 3 miles a day on treadmill so it was a wonderful experience even out the box with no break in.

Love love love these shoes! They are amazing, please make more color options and keep them around forever! The to box is perfect shape and width, no discomfort running, walking or jumping. The perfect amount of cushion to take the blow out of high impact workouts. This is my new favorite Nike go to shoe for every workout that has any type of impact. It felt so good to run in, no achy knees or sore joints and I didn ’ t need to break them in first. Nike PLEASE MAKE MORE COLOR OPTIONS!

Love the arch support on these and the price point. Although they ’ re not the best looking shoe to wear, this shoe is definitely made to put in work. Minor slippage on my right foot as it ’s slightly smaller than my left foot. Toe cap is not your average Nike narrow one. It is a little wider( assuming it ’s for when your toes expand while running). They fit differently, but if I were to go. 5 smaller my big toe would definitely hit. I went true to size and I always fit into their narrow shoes( Nike).
