Neither my husband or I previously wore a helmet. My husband does ride quite regularly and often by himself and i have suggested he buy himself a helmet. Earlier this summer I noticed a new silver halyconhelmet in the garage with the bike stuff. Not gon na lie it looked pretty good. Since it was not mine it had to be my husband ’s although he never mentioned getting it. Since he usually rides by himself it was easy to envision him wearing it on rides. Last week we were going out for a ride, as we loaded the car i asked about the helmet. He chuckled and said he got it after he hit 30 mph on a ride but didn ’ t think we would be going quite that fast today. I asked if i could wear it and of course he said absolutely. The helmet fit my normal female head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap and we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual as my husband told me to slow down at least once. When we were done as i was taking it off my husband asked what I thought. I told him i liked it and wanted my own. He said that would be great and that he felt a little bit naked without it on.. Hope to never test it but it honestly feels very safe and substantial

I guess my 12 year old has a head that has outgrown youth size helmets. We went to the store and found a Rawlings Senior( Adult) Velo Baseball Batting Helmet to try on. It fit, but the store did n't have the color scheme he wanted. Ordered it online without issue. The reason I 'm not giving it 5 stars was the shipping. It shipped via FedEx. It seems everytime we get anything that ships through FedEx, we get an expected delivery date. I can see the item arrive in my city, get put on a truck for delivery, and still have it show as `` on time. '' But almost always, FedEx updates that the item has been delayed for `` Exception. '' What does that even mean. I checked the status for the next 2 or 3 days before it finally went out for delivery and arrived. Is this Dick's fault? YES! Use another carrier besides FedEx and I 'll be a more satisfied customer. Otherwise, once the helmet arrived, it fit well, looks great, and my son is super happy with it and is n't getting his melon squeezed anymore.

My wife has had this helmet for several years. She wore it pretty regularly until this past summer. Last year she decided that helmets were unnecessary and did not really provide much protection and that their effectiveness was overrated. I never wore a helmet so it was no concern to me. I was wearing this helmet when I flew off my electric scooter going 20 miles an hour. My head in my helmet broke the fall and then I hit my shoulder hard enough to dislocate it and tear my rotator cuff. Thank you smith for keeping my head safe! Not even a mild concussion!

I commute in NYC to work everyday on a bike and my husband( thankfully) made me get a helmet. I thought this was a perfect mix of function+aesthetic+value. I had no idea it would actually save my life. A truck took a left turn directly into me, and my head hit the ground so hard I broke 2 teeth and busted my lip.
