This is for Kayak fishing but add the track to a board and your open water Garmin transducer to the arm and you have a year round sonar. Without an arm like this the standard transducer cable is too stiff to keep the transducer pointing straight down which is critical when in flasher mode.

This is a really solid basic unit, especially for seeing topography and water temperatures. It certainly does show fish and all of that good stuff but can ’ t really use it for targeting fish because once it shows up they ’ re behind the boat you ’ re not exactly sure how far back they may have swam away anyway, however, it is really good for targeting lots of biologic activity because that ’s where you catch the fish like where there ’s bait fish like swarms a fish. You can usually think they ’ ll be some larger fish there that you can target

[ Takes a bit of time to install if you need a battery box as well but once it is together the two items are really solid and easy to use. Only suggestion is a lock that will hold the transducer up in the air and keep it in place while moving the kayak into and out of the water.

Went with the deeper instead of other fish finders because it is so easy to use for kayak and shore fishing. It is lightweight and portable. I do n't need to run wires or add another screen. I needed a swivel mount so I can search structure while idling the boat and then flip it around while using the trolling motor. I ’ ve gone out 10- 15 times and have had zero issues. It provides nearly infinite adjustments. It ’s tough and I can tell it ’s built to last.
