I chose the Marucci Dura- ball's because I needed something to use to work on my son's and daughter's swing over the winter inside here in PA where it gets cold and snowy. It's difficult to get in indoor swings with baseballs because of breakage, but the Duraball popped off of the bat really well and are easy to throw. We were able to get in a lot of reps because of it to correct mechanics and level out the swing. We worked from the pitch and doing some Tee work. The Dura- ball is easy to pitch and does n't move around like a whiffle ball, the ball easily traveled the length of the gym on good contact. The Carry Bag that it comes with is really handy and makes it easy to keep track of them instead of tossing them in the bucket with baseballs. I expect to get a couple of off- seasons out of the Dura- Balls and expect to use them in the pre- season when we ca n't quite get on the field yet. Overall, I definitely recommend this product if you need to get in swings outside and have windows, other breakable objects or in a gym.

We didnt have to worry about him breaking anything like with real baseballs. They have held up great so far. The red side seems a bit softer than the white side. But both sides seemed to preform the same when hitting. A few times he joked because he hit it so hard we thought it must have cracked but they didnt even have a mark left on them. I did not get a chance to actually use the Training Dura Balls until a good month after I received but was excited to finally use them. Although we are a baseball team, these balls helped us work on our hitting. We started with these balls first then moved onto the smaller training balls. The bigger size helped us get the team to focus on lining the bat centered on the ball hoping this leads them to focus on getting their bats squared up with the pitch. We also used the bigger balls to help our fielders open their baseball gloves more on ground balls to ensure they field the ball. A few of our players were not opening their glove wide enough to field the ball correctly so the bigger ball got them used to opening their glove more to catch/field the ball

We have a single wheel Jugs machine and an old 2 wheel Curve Master machine. We had been using older practice balls and could n't get control of the break on the curve machine, and both machines would tear up buckets of practice balls. These dimple balls stay consistent off the machine, and the players are more comfortable in the box. The ball sounds right off the bat, I just do n't let them use composite bats and prefer they use practice bats. Have n't used them long enough to know how they affect bats. These balls are nice quality. They are solid with a slight squishy feeling. When used in the heater pitching machine they come out slower because of their weight. If they get wet or damp they are even slower through the machine. My not have enough velocity to make it farther than 10 feet when wet.( wet because the grass is damp) When dry they can go far enough to simulate a pitcher. Not perfectly but enough for back yard practice.

One of the balls was confiscated by my German Shepherd, who routinely destroys tennis balls. She chewed and stomped on this for days, but was unable to break it down! They also allow him to pant when he walks because of the hole in them. I ’ m sure they are great for the sport they are intended for but they are also great for dogs. These are `` limited flight '' balls so they do n't go very far even on a very hard hit, but they still give great feedback on the quality of the contact. I taught my son how to play with ghost runners today and we played a great game of baseball, just like I did with my brother growing up except when my brother and I played with real baseballs we hit a lot of home runs. These balls create a lot of runners and facilitate force- outs and holding ghost runners in place. I can see them used for backyard baseball with more players and real runners as well.
