Neither my husband or I wore a bike helmet in the past. This spring I bought an expensive bell helmet mail order and wore it two or three times before leaving it on the shelf for good it felt a little large too me and very uncomfortable. After i got my husband a speedometer this summer we noticed we were often going 20 mph or faster. After my husband came home From a solo ride where he said he was going particularly fast almost 30 mph( yikes) I told him that he should really be wearing a helmet and suggesting he try the helmet I had bought. I noticed my husband returned home from from his next few solo rides with my helmet. I finally asked how he liked wearing a helmet and he told me it was quite comfortable and made him feel much safer. He also asked how i would feel If he wore it while We rode together. I of course told him i was fine with that. After a few rides where he wore it and i wore my hat, I decided to buy another helmet, but this time i decided I was going to the store to try some on. I found the fixture in blue for a great price and loved the way it felt when i tried it on. On my first ride I realized how awesome it was to have a good fitting helmet. i was really happy with how much better it felt. Honestly sometimes I forget i have it on. Absolutely no regrets with this helmet.

This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. [ Absolutely love this helmet. Tried hard to go with either the POC Tectal or Kortal prior to buying this one and I 'm so glad I did! It fits like a glove and I totally forget I 'm wearing it while riding. It's by far not as bulky as the POC helmets and it also feels at least subjectively lighter. Love the color schemes as well and can not praise the fit of this helmet enough. Sizing is spot on and the magnetic buckle is also a plus.

Neither my husband or I previously wore a helmet. My husband does ride quite regularly and often by himself and i have suggested he buy himself a helmet. Earlier this summer I noticed a new silver halyconhelmet in the garage with the bike stuff. Not gon na lie it looked pretty good. The helmet fit my normal female head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap and we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual as my husband told me to slow down at least once. When we were done as i was taking it off my husband asked what I thought. I told him i liked it and wanted my own. He said that would be great and that he felt a little bit naked without it on.. Hope to never test it but it honestly feels very safe and substantial

[ The helmet is small profile, fits round shaped heads, nice looking and got good crash test ratings from Virginia Tech. I also like how little wind noise it has. I was surprised because I read some reviews that claim a high level of wind noise. But my experience is this is the quietest helmet I 've used. I also have a rounder shaped head and very few helmets fit me properly so I usually have to size up and wear large. But the medium fit me perfectly. My main complaint about the helmet is that I mainly mountain bike and the Lazer dial at the top of the helmet just does n't tighten down enough to keep the helmet from shifting around on my head while hitting bumps and drops on singletrack. The dial also feels notchy when turning it. Overall, I 'd say the helmet is one of the best for road riding but for mountain biking, something that tightens down more would be better.

I never wear a helmet when i bike. My wife owns several helmets and will sometimes wear one when we ride together, and she always wears one when she rides with her parents. Recently we were going on a ride with her parents. As we were packing up my wife said i had to wear a helmet and gave me her persist. When i gave her a funny look she said you know my mom is a nurse and obsessives over safety just wear it. I said okay and She helped me get it fitted. The helmet fit my normal male head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap when we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual. When we were done my wife asked what I thought. I told her i liked it and was considering my own. She seemed surprised excitedly that i was being safe. She also told me i was more than welcome to wear it on any ride since she has multiple helmets.

As a loving wife I naturally worry about my husband ’s well being. I have never been big on helmets so once the kids hit their teens they quit wearing their helmet and my husband and i never wore helmets. The helmet is great. But like anything you wear, the fit is what counts. In my case, the front pushes my safety glasses down and out of my nose. My previous helmet did not have this problem. Again, I do not think it is a problem with the helmet itself, but you may want to consider visiting your Local Bike Shop( LBS) to buy a helmet you can try on with your glasses, etc.

While i did not own a helmet my wife has a helmet that she Periodically wears, mostly when biking with her parents, who wear helmets. I am pretty sure it is the first helmet ever made. I actually think it is older than she is, possibly a hand me down from a much older sibling who likely never wore it. Not only is it heavy, it is a white hard shell with white foam interior and looks pretty dated and worn. When she wears it she does not have much to say good or bad. When we would ride just the two of us she almost never wears it. I recently did a sanctioned ride wear a helmet was required and wore my wife ’s helmet. While It was actually nice peace of mind having it on, it fit and felt terrible. As i was signing up for another ride requiring a helmet I decided to buy a proper helmet. I started looking and found a signal in white at DSG. I bought it and tried it on and was satisfied with how it fit. I did not wear it until my ride that required it. Finally i wore it on the ride, WOW It had an awesome fit and i was happy with the number of vents and how light it was. Darn it is so well vented light and comfortable you dont even know you have it on. Yesterday we decided to take an all day ride and i said that I would wear my new helmet so of course my wife wore hers. Halfway through she asked …no begged me to try my helmet. On several occasions she mentioned how nice it was compared to her ancient helmet. When we switched back she only wore her helmet briefly before removing it and hanging it on the handle bars and announcing she wanted a new helmet too. Any questions just ask my wife.

My wife has had this helmet for several years. She wore it pretty regularly until this past summer. Last year she decided that helmets were unnecessary and did not really provide much protection and that their effectiveness was overrated. I never wore a helmet so it was no concern to me. Some friends i occasionally ride with wanted me to take aride with them but informed me i needed a helmet so i took my fifes old fixture. It's light, fits and breathes well, even on the hottest of days, while being fully adjustable to fit with or without a skull cap. About the only thing that it falls short on is the straps are shorter than I 'd like, such that I only have about an inch of strap beyond the buckle and would prefer to see another 1- 2 inches for better adjustability. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology—Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.
