[ I switched from a old college backpack after I acquired too much gear… This bag is 1000% worth the price. The duffle style opening makes it extremely accessible all day while you ’ re at the crags

[ Overall, this backpack is great. It fits an 80m rope, two helmets, plenty of quickdraws, shoes, harness and more( although its a tight fit with all of those things). The backpack design is good, and i like that the front of the backpack is what touches the ground, not the side that goes on your back. My only complaint is that the backpack is very simple- there are no loops to clip stuff onto, or pockets for waterbottles, which is a bit annoying if you need to hike a bit. Overall a fantastic bag, especially for the price!!

[ This is an awesome rope bag for the gym, and crag. I used this bag carry a 70mm rope, shoes, chalk bag, Grigri, change of clothers, snacks, and there are still room to carry extra stuff. I highly recommend this bag.

[ Bought this as a gift for a friend and he very much likes it. He also does n't have to borrow mine any longer. This is exactly what I wish I woupdve bought myself years ago, the tarp comes ou easily in the center and the handles on the corners make it super easy to shift over a few feet at the crag. Comfy on the back and holds all the essentials with a 60m rope.

I bought this for my first mountaineering excursion. A nearly 9000 foot elevation in Patagonia of Cerro Creston. Held my crampons and ice axe perfectly during the 1 hr+ hike to the base of the mountain and super comfortable to wear. Love the attached gear loops around the waist band. Side straps held my mountaineer boots very solidly until needed. Functional, lightweight, simplistic, and efficient.

This pack has everything you ’ ll need, rock snow or ice. Fantastic product! Shoulder strap adjustments are in a bit of a weird spot when the pack is loaded but pretty minor.

I was looking for a medium size pack for an overnight summit trip and this fits the bill. I like the decent size water bottle pockets on the side, hydration bladder support( that doubles as laptop pocket if not used) and the hideable waist straps. I also like the hidden mesh pocket for jacket/wet things. I wish there ’s a soft bottle pockets on the shoulder strap. The only minor annoyance I found was the thin zipper pulls are hard to find. But I love everything else about the bag.

Very nice looking backpack I got for my wife as a Christmas present. It ’s was on a big discount so that part was a plus in the beginning. Good features, practical and great quality materials as usual in a Mountain Hardware product.

Its amazing, fits everything I need it to, the double handles are suprisingly useful, it fits nalgenes, and the stowable mesh is super handy for carrying rain jacket and gym shoes, have n't used it for hiking yet but i 'm sure it 'll be great
5
Courtney
Great pack, love the color, great size, low profile and very usable gear attachments on outside. Small wishes: the water bottle holders aren ’ t big enough to fit a Nalgene, and loops to tuck the extra hip belt into.
5
Kira
Great hiking back- pack! Decently waterproof, good size for a day hike allows you to bring lunch, big water bottle, jacket and an additional layer and has plenty of space left. Everything is adjustable and it creates a great fit that makes carrying heavy items( like rocks, I 'm a geologist) very easy. Only disadvantage is that it has only one additional pocket on top( apart from the mesh front pocket) so all small things like keys, bandaids, lib balm, sunglasses have to go all together.

I wanted a nifty work/day trip climb and travel bag. This bag is great because the bucked shape makes the most of the 20L size and there ’s a laptop sleep that is nicely protected and separated from the main storage area. Exterior straps help with extra storage
5

It's a great pack for a day trip. Though some of my hikes are long days, this can carry the essentials I need but is light and versatile. Two water bottle pouches on the outside are great. Can be combined with a Fanny pack or other items.

Love the color. Sturdy pack that is perfect for a day hike.

[ This thing is awesome! Super simple and light weight. Pretty water resistant as well. I use it as my go to and have been caught in some pretty good rain storms and it kept everything dry. The back pad does n't hold too much heat and the taller more narrow shape of the pack does n't feel like you have a bunch of stuff. I 've used it for hikes, weekend trips and as day to day bag. 10/10 would recommend.

Garret P
This is a very good, very simple bag. It has a small outside pocket on the top and main compartment. I have used it for a few hikes and a few 20+ mile runs with a bladder inside( it does have a loop to keep the bladder upright). Good bag for the money.

I 've used this for mountain runs and sport climbing. It took me a while to discover the hose pass- through for the hydration bladder. I 've kept them in the outer stretch pockets which works well enough I guess.

Simple and well designed. I really like having the ability to remove the lid and strip the pack down. Everything you need is there without extra fluff. The Speed 30's versatility and simplicity is its greatest asset.

Black Diamond's Speed Packs provide everything I need and appreciate in a trad pack without any unnecessary fluff 'n' stuff added. I 'm a tall man with a short torso, and the smaller size sits nicely, even while wearing a harness and climbing multipitch routes. The pack also carries a rope nicely, with five compression straps keeping it in place. While I have n't used this pack for skiing, I can strongly recommend it for all- day climbing adventures.

Weighted my Talon 11 down heavy with a piece of cherry burl I got out of my back woods while on cross country skis. Really comfortable. Only considerations are I wish the hip pockets were positioned more forward and the zippers were a little more beefy.

[ Although this is sold as a small backpack, it is mighty perfect for a day hike. Love the top zipped compartment, great for stowing those most important items that you need without searching. Along with the perfect zipped area on the waist belt- fits my iPhone 15 perfectly. This pack just keeps on giving you options to place items that you need quickly without stopping to take everything out to find what u need! Oh and the outside side pockets on both sides are ideal for water bottles. And if you really need water, you can buy the bladder accessory as this pack is bladder ready! Must mention it had an easy clip for a biking helmet, and my trekking poles easily attach to the straps. This pack makes my hikes even more enjoyable!
5
Robert K.
[ Love the Talon 11! This is my second one, the first lasted around 18 years before puppy shredding and worn out zippers did it in.
5
Kris H.
[ This pack is versatile and comfortable. Fits enough to do a 1 day up and down Mt. Whitney to easy day hikes. I put a 3L bladder in mine and the weight of the bladder does pull the keeper at the top of the pack down and deform it a little. My wife uses a 2L and her Talon 11 doesn ’ t experience this. Overall an awsome product, durable and comfortable.

[ I bought this pack not too long ago and have only taken it out once, but I have no complaints so far. The material and build quality seem to be durable. In my pack I can fit my shoes( on the outside), harness, a 70m rope, belay devices, anchor materials, and a helmet with some room to spare. I can also put smaller items( keys and phone) in the large brain on top of the pack. I would assume if you fully optimized space, you could additionally put clothes on the bottom of your pack or add draws. I also love how this pack can transfer the weight onto your hips and really support whatever you packed. Overall, I 'm really happy with my purchase!

[ Had this crag bag for a couple weeks now. Roomy. Holds my 60 m rope, QuickDraws, water and lunch. Especially like the mesh pocket on the outside for shoes and lid bag for phone, snacks and even a small zippered pocket for keys/wallet. Nothings getting lost at the crag. We ’ ll balanced with the rope in the bottom and waist belt on. Makes those treks to the crag less daunting.

[ A simple, rock- centric piece of equipment. The size is perfect for a day of cragging or multi pitch routes. The shape and design make it super easy to load and unload. It's streamlined without all the fussy straps and buckles that typically get hung up in tight approaches or hauling. No ice axe loops either, this is a pure rock pack. I like that the main compartment is accessed with only one top zipper... there's no reason to have a zillion ways to get inside a 40L bag. I can load it with a large rack and webbing, a rope, water bottle and jacket with room to spare. It feels solid on my back, and carries great. The top compartment is roomy, and also accessible with a single zipper, and there is a realistically- sized zippered pocket for iPhone and/or keys. The waterproof outer material seems bomber, and built like a tank, except for the webbing strap on the waist belt which seems a bit thin, but no big deal. The waist belt itself is sturdy enough and includes small gear loops on each hip. The included mini tarp is a thoughtful touch, though I personally wish it were larger. Outside mesh pockets for shoes and chalk bag are a nice convenience. There are other similar packs out there, but this one was a big bang for the buck. Lastly, it's cool looking, I get compliments all the time.

[ I ’ ve had this for a few weeks now. I love that it fits my 60m rope, draws, three pairs of shoes, harness, and any other misc gear. Very comfortable with the waist straps. They really transfer the load from your shoulders to your hips. I haven ’ t used it outside to test durability yet. Love the shoe pouch as well. Good features, large, comfortable, and great price.

[ My old crag pack which had survived 10 years of hard use, multiple trips through the desert and a bear attack in the Adirondacks was finally in need of replacement. this is a very simple pack. pretty much just a fabric sack with a roll top closure, but that's honestly what i want from a climbing pack. it's durable, and there are a few nice features, like a hidden back panel pocket for a phone/protein bar access while wearing. other than that it's big enough for lunch, layers, and water, which is all i want to take with me on a climb. i slung a rope on top easy enough for a longish red rocks approach. only nitpick is that i would probably like some daisy chains, but i can add those myself if i want. overall, great pack for the money.
5
Edwin L.
It ’s a tight fit but I can get all my sport gear, plus a layer, and some snacks. Secured the rope to the top of the bag. Super comfy to climb in. Sits high enough on my back I can still use my chalk bag. Used this on a 4 pitch multipitch and look forward to many more days climbing with this!

Another great pack by black diamond. This one is made for quick excursions, and it feels bigger than you 'd think. It feels closer to 20l, and quite durable. A nice little pack, I would definitely recommend it!!

This bag is discreet, light weight, versatile, and makes you forget you even have it on while pulling 5. 10 moves. Fits everything for the day's multi pitching up to your favorite view and is a ideal solution for your bag your carrying to the bouldering area. As an ultralight Backpacker, I leave my honest review here. First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

GR
I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

Bought one in 2015. Used it for absolutely everything, usually climbing, and only after several canyoneering trips has it finally gotten so many holes it was time. Canyoneering destroys packs. Not the most UL. And that ’s good. Carries all things. Durable as F. I ’ m scared of new versions of favorite old gear- but oh my god the 2023 actually has loads of helpful improvements. 10/10.

The pack is lite& compact yet holds what I need for multiple adventures. In addition to ice climbing I can use it for day hikes/ trail runs and back country or alpine skiing with enough attach points to carry a pair of skis or miscellaneous gear when needed without excessively restricting mobility.

Much better and lighter than previous speed models. I like the fabric and it has a lot of straps for carrying bigger loads into the mountains and then stripping it down to a lighter climbing pack. I really like the top closure system. Could do away with the velcro for securing the lid, not needed.

[ First off, the open front flap makes accessing my gear at the crag so easy. The built in rope tarp is lightweight, incredibly sturdy and just the right size( i use a 70m rope). I like how breathable the straps and back are even though that is not the main thing that I enjoy about this hard structured, EVA- molded backpanel with HDPE framesheet allows me to carry just about any weight on my pack up any approach, steep or long without being bothered. There are other wonderful key features of this bag but hats off to you Osprey. You guys made an excellent climbing pack.

[ This bag is the perfect size and functionality for a long crag day. The straps and hip belt are perfect for harder approaches and the zipper/duffel double feature lets me grab whatever I need without having to empty the whole thing. Nice side pocket for bladder/bottle too. Highly recommend!
5
Great pack over all! I love that it comes with the tarp! Works great with all my gear and is super comfortable to carry.

Awesome bag that is bomb proof and so easy to pack and unpack with closure. Allows for luxury items with short to medium approach and easy to carry a rope with the top cover. You can go to war with this thing. They say it ’s an ultra pack, but it is also the most comfortable pack I ’ ve ever used for MTB ’ ing. We use ours constantly whether for running errands or extra items that get stuffed into our crashpads. It's a perfect multiuse pack that is used constantly in our household.

My old first- gen Distance 8 is finally wearing out after thousands of miles, hundreds of mountains, 100k PRs, snow and rain, gallons of sweat and pounds of salt, who knows what else. This iteration of the Distance 8 is like an old friend with a few useful refinements. So comfortable I grab it even for a basic 30 minute outing if I want to go hands- free with water or phone, but also absolutely reliable for the biggest adventures.

This is an upgrade over my previous vest from a different retailer. Big roomy pockets on the front for flasks with elastic loops that go over the lid to prevent it from sinking down in the sleeve over time. I love the zippered pocket on the left for my phone and the mesh pockets on either side for snacks. The bag has an easy top cinch at the top and is super roomy for the other essentials and then some. There is probably enough space in the pack itself for an emergency overnight. The fit is luxuriously comfortable, feels secure with very little bouncing and jostling. The only aspect of the pack I have n't used is the pole sleeves on either side of the pack or the elastic loops for lashing poles to the outside. They seem like they would work very well with the distance z poles, but not my old school backpacking poles. Really though, this is a great buy, I am extremely satisfied with the fit, feel, and quality of the running pack.

We recently embarked on challenging hikes through Lassen National Park and Mount Tam with this exceptional backpack, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The backpack strikes a perfect balance between ample storage space for all the necessary essentials and a lightweight, durable design that does n't weigh you down during long treks. The color scheme is attractive, although more color options would have been a welcome addition. The waist belt and double sternum straps provided a snug and secure fit, ensuring the pack stayed stable even during demanding trails. We found the outside pockets to be surprisingly useful, providing easy access to frequently needed items. The zippers worked flawlessly, and their seals effectively protected our belongings from rain and moisture. Despite hiking in 80º temperatures, the backpack remained remarkably breathable, keeping us comfortable throughout our journey. This backpack is a reliable companion for outdoor adventures, and we highly recommend it to fellow nature enthusiasts.

6/22: had the Sirrus 24 for years. liked it. Compression- fratured lumbar region early spring. Feared hiking days over. stubborn but realistic: Had to carry pack light and high. Wore same clothes daily, hat, pricey poles. Tied jacket around waist, saved pack space for tent, food, water, rain gear, navigation, first aid, sleeping bag n cooking gear. There was other stuff inside bag, but I forget. Was able to carry light even with food. This pack solved my weight fears: helped me keep all under weight, not stressing back. Wore a lot; usually kept inside pack. Used water bladder. Was able to muster the entire CT in 2022. Cons: not able to reach back and grasp water bottles, pockets on belt too small and plastic zippers ceased in cold. Otherwise; really liked.

[ I love this pack. It ’s my mtb trail building pack. I can fit my sawing helmet in the little helmet spot. Which is great. Tons of room! Just enough pockets. I really dig the hip pocket. I find the quality to be super durable. Almost to a fault because the only annoying thing is sometimes the zipper on the main pouch can be a B to zip. I think it ’s because the frame and probably what you would want for a zipper there, toughness. No big really. Glad I went the osprey route!

I ’ ve taken this backpack to two different 30 day trips. And I have been through every single situation, terrain( minus snow), 10+ flights( a few made made check in bag) camped, hiked, walked through beaches, visited hostels. Hours in airports and this backpack is A beast. I stuff the heck out of this bag. It packs like a 50L. The top most pocket is so big. Can fit a toiletry bag and more. Still looks new, quality is superb. Passport fits perfectly in hip pockets and snacks and earbud case. Very light and comfortable. My bag was roughly 25- 40 pounds at all times. Perfect for long trips( 10+ days)

I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

This is my first MAMMUT product, and the first 38L pack I 've bought in years. I use the Velcro loops to hold my collapsible fly rods and tube. This is not a commuter pack, but the inner orange pouch will hold a laptop or wilderness scientific device. The `` H2O '' hole was an unexpected delight, I can put a hydration bladder in the orange pouch and a run tube up through the hole. The pack can hold my tent, mess kit, jetboil system, and a few cooking pots. Since it is dumb to hike or climb alone the person you are with can carry whatever else needs to be carried. It's a great pack, and lets admit no matter what kind of pack any of us have had we always create work- arounds to attach something to our packs.
5
Great lightweight sturdy pack specifically designed for ice climbing and mountaineering. If you are an efficient packer, you can also use it for weekend backpacking. Weight distribution is good. This is my new go- to pack for climbing and backpacking trips. It can be used for skiing as well. However, I prefer keeping my avy gear in a separate compartment and I use the Osprey Kamber 42 for ski mountaineering.

Just the right balance of weight vs features and comfort. Love the running pack- inspired shoulder strap pockets for snacks/phone/water bottle.

A very straightforward design for the alpine and extremely comfortable for long missions and climbing with the shaped shoulder straps.
5
I did an extensive research on the different alpine specific backpacks on brands popular among climbers in southern California and I found that this is the second lighter bag just after the patagonia one, but this bag is lighter than the popular black diamond speed. The material is superb, I 've been taking the bag out for climbing and mountaneering and I do n't see a possibility to make a hole on it, the tools attachment is easy and solid and the side compression straps axtends to hug the whole bag, practical to attach crampons, the harness is comfortable and the stretchy shoulder strap pockets perfect for my GPS in one side and my sunglasses on the other. But my favorite features are the solid streamlined design and features. On the down side the black material make it dark when looking for gear inside the pack( only color available when I purchased it)

I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

[ Just returned from the BWCA with my Aether 65. This is a nice pack that worked well for a 4 day self supported journey deep in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Our trip included 5 portages with 3 having quite a bit of undulation. The pack was weighed down with 44lbs of gear and was comfortable( as much as 44lbs of gear can be, definitely dropping some weight on the next trip). I liked it because I typically start trips like this fresh and strong and have my pack set up to that posture with quick( on the fly) adjustments being made as I ’ m flagging from hiking and paddling for hours. Nice pack that is well thought out with all the features you need and none that are useless. Both of my sons were wearing the same pack with zero complaints. Nice product that ’s worth the investment.

[ I just bought it and packed my winter gear in it. I weighed out at 51 lbs. It's so comfortable and fits great. I 'll be taking it out next week and ca n't wait.

Pack arrived in perfect new condition and the price was better than anywhere else. No break in of any kind required and my first trip with it was a 4day/3night 45mi trip. I had no complaints on fit and comfort. The fit on the fly adjustments, specifically the torso adjustment, were awesome. So easy to fine tune during that trip. My buddies also bought the same packs for the trip and also gave it high praises. Ca n't recommend this one enough

[ Have only taken this pack on one trek so far but it was great. Very comfortable and distributes weight nicely. I love how convient it is to access the inside of the pack with the front pouch. Only complaint is the water bottle pocket- it ’s very difficult to get a 1. 5 liter Nalgene in and out when the pack is full.

[ Bought this a few weeks ago for a backpacking trip to Olympic National Park and it ’s been great so far! I ’ m a 5 ’ 9 ” woman with athletic/curvy build. Thoughtful compartments, detachable smaller pack, built in rain cover, and seems pretty lightweight to me. I love the green color of the pack and the neon green color of the rain cover. My other pack is a 45 Osprey from 4 years ago and this frame seems more supportive/better padded.

My wife and I each have the Cargon 40L and we each brought ours on our honeymoon to Ireland, Italy, and Greece. The bags held up incredibly well during the 2 weeks traveling across Europe and they were very comfortable to carry in both the backpack and carry handle configuration. The bag has a ton of storage and the open compartment without smaller dividers was much more usable as it didn ’ t limit us in what our usable space was. We plan on buying more in a variety of larger sizes as well for camping, hiking, and ski trips. Can not recommend this bag enough! Another great product from Mammut.

I love this duffel bag. It ’s really high quality and durable, and it has plenty of room for all of your gear. I also like that it ’s so lightweight, as sometimes on longer trips I get dangerously close to my bag being over 50 lbs and having to pay the airline lots of extra money. The other duffels I considered weighed a lot more, and I was worried that would tip me over the 50 lb mark. This bag is super light yet still has a lot of pockets and good compression, and the backpack straps make it easy to haul through the airport. Highly recommend this bag.

I like this bag as a carryon because you can stuff it full since it is just an open sack. No wheels, dividers or other internal parts taking up space. I noticed a significant amount more of packable space versus my standard wheeled carry on.

Poches bien placées et matériel tenace. Un très bon choix polyvalent

The optimal city- to- nature partner. I use this bag as a weekender, a gym bag, and even to go to work. It is comfortable for short walks even with over 10 lbs of stuff. The two internal pockets are quite useful too. Worth the investment!

Durable and is just the right size for an easy day trip. Internal pockets made to keep things dry. Would consider a larger pack for a longer haul or longer day where you might pack more extras, but this is perfect for carrying your gear to a quick climb location.

I originally got the 35L because the 50l was out of stock for the m/l waist bands. It went on two different airlines as a carry on, rain day and kept everything dry, and originally fit two people ’s equipment for a day climb single pitches. There is plenty of room and organized easily. I ’ d recommend if your climbing single or few days single rack single pitches. I did recently purchase the 50L after seeing and climbing with a fella who owned it. He did make comment if he didn ’ t guide he would have the 35l as his first choice. I recently bought a second full rack z4, c4, stoppers, offsets, hex. I believe the smart choice at that point was upgrading to 50l but I also have the 35l to slim down on those days and approaches that require it. BD crag bags are my favorite and have not let me down yet. I have some other brands and I would 100% grab the BDs first. I would only say I would like to see the new nickle options available more.

After procrastinating for several years I decided to get a new ski pack. Loaded it up and loved the fit and the way it carries a load. My mind struggled a bit with the lack of pockets for miscellaneous stuff, but I have worked that out. If you are thinking about this pack, do it!

This pack is amazing. Everything is `` in the right place ''. Helmet, shovel, probe, water bladder perfectly snug. Interior space is plenty for food, skins, puffy layer and shell. And most importantly the way the pack moves with your body while skiing is magical... I truly forget that it is on my back!

[ It's light enough for me to use for small loads and big enough for me to carry a few days worth of stuff as well. I like the access options to the main compartment so I can pack items in the most accommodating way with weight where I want it but not having to unpack just to access whatever is on the bottom. Osprey quality so the only precaution I take while it's getting moved out of my hands is fasten all the clips and tuck excess strap material. I appreciate the integrated rain cover more than I thought I would. I already do recommend the pack to buddies and I would buy it again.

First time Osprey customer and I purchased this based on size, looks and comfort. I used this pack on an overnight hike up a strenuous 6km up hill, through waist deep snow in places. It carried the 40- 50lbs well, the hip strap with the wire takes a lot of the weight off the shoulders. It has lots of adjustability and many pockets. I like the fact that you can unzip the front and access items in the bottom without having to unpack everything. Two side pockets that fit larger sized water bottles( Nalgene 1L) The SM/Med fits my 5'10 medium sized frame well. Osprey has gained a lifelong customer

[ Wow, just wow. Sold my 23 year old Gregory Denali Pro 105l& bought this pack. It's amazing. I love the toughness of the material and the choice of options it offers. Plenty of pockets, adjustable straps, etc to customize the load you plan on carrying. I plan on abusing this puppy all season long as I know it will stand up to it. Really excited to get out there!

[ I ’ ve only used it once on a day and a half over night hike. It was hot and dry so I was carrying extra water( started with 6 litters) I am wishing I would have spent the extra money and bought the Aether 55 or the Aether 60 plus. I have a larger Aether 70 plus that I find more comfortable or fits me better. I was looking for a smaller bag for short trips or wear I am not caring bulky cold weather gear.

Great pack! Carried on a dozen trips now with 10 to 15 mile days over this last year. Average pack weight of 28- 32 pounds,( i like my comfort) and did not get tired of the pack. Back has good ventilation. Was comfortable start to finish every time. Had one day of 3500 elevation gain, 15 miles, comfortable. Held everything well organized with some space left over even with the bear cannister in the pack.

[ There was absolutely nothing wrong with the bag. I have a very strong feeling I 'll purchase it again I 'm just trying to figure out if I willing to put aside my peak design travel bag instead. I think it would be a GREAT backpacking bag. So to be continued.
